Mildred Marie Crosby Wiggins, 90, widow of Robert Benjamin Wiggins, died Thursday morning, March 29, 2012 at her home in Charleston, South Carolina. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this Saturday afternoon at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Born January 2, 1922 in Charleston, SC, Mildred was the daughter of the late Martin Jacob Crosby and Ada May Kinard Crosby. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. Mildred was a bookkeeper for the Cooper River School District, a substitute teacher at Chicora High School and worked with special needs children at Charles Webb and N. Charleston Elementary.
Survivors include her daughters: Cynthia Blakey (Mark) of Anderson, SC and Joslyn M. Willcutt of Charleston; sisters: Erline Crosby of Charleston and Margaret C. Martin (Walter) of Charleston; brother: Olin M. Crosby (Joanne) of Charleston; grandchildren: Kelly W. Rozier (Bert) of Charleston and Justin T. Blakey (Leigh) of Anderson, SC; great grandchildren: Anna, Rhyan and Manning Rozier and Elijah Blakey, and her extended family of loving nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her sister, June Scott. The family would like to recognize the very special people who cared for Mildred: Paulette, Marilyn, Nikki, Pernyce, Janette & Monica
