The family will receive friends Sunday, July 3, 2016 in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 1:00 pm until time of the service.
Mildred was born January 13, 1931 in Amboy, Illinois, daughter of the late Ernest Griffith and the late Dora Beasley Griffith, and the last surviving daughter of five. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and friends. Mildred attended Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church and East Cooper Baptist Church.
Millie was a depression age child, and never took for granted all of the blessings she had. Having not many material things growing up, she carried that instinct throughout her life, was one to never waste, and always offered to share what she had. One of her favorite past times was to take pictures of the family on a regular basis. We have so many wonderful memories to look back on, due to her joyful spirit. She had the heart of a servant. Millie always had a smile on her face, and she was always there to comfort, share, embrace, and love. Her demeanor was one of grace, and an illustration of Agape love. Her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ was immeasurable. She truly was a Saint on Earth, and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by four daughters, Vickie P. McCoy (Randy) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Cindie Chandler of Columbia, SC, Robin Tripp (Joe) of Afton, TN, and Lisa Sisk (David) of Wilmington, NC; sister-in-law and best friend Lucille Armantrout of Mt Pleasant; five grandchildren, Melissa McCoy, Matthew McCoy (Brett), Powell Sisk (Emily), Ashley Jordan (Ricky) and Nicholas Sisk; three great grandchildren, Logan and Addisyn McCoy and Lucas Sisk.
The family would like to send special thanks to Hospice of Charleston, her nurse Suzanne, and her aide Barbara, who went above and beyond to provide her loving care in her final days.
Friends are invited to stop by after the service at 2758 Victoria Lake Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
