Entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 27, 2012, Mildred Swearingen Dunlap Mitchum, 98, widow of Robert N. Dunlap, Sr. and Leonard Mitchum. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Monday, January 30, 2012, 11:00 am at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Committal services will follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday at J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL from 5 until 7 pm.

Born on July 27, 1913 in Graniteville, South Carolina, Mildred was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary Dunkley Swearingen. Mrs. Mitchum was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include; a son, Robert N. Dunlap, Jr. of Hilton Head, SC; a daughter, Shirley Aydlett of Charleston; a brother, Jerry Swearingen of North Augusta, SC; two sisters, Jacquelyn Moore of Augusta, Georgia and Vera McKnight of Charleston; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchum is preceded in death by her daughter Roberta Benton.
