Mildred Yon Kirkland, 80, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of George L. Kirkland, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013, in Citadel Square Baptist Chapel, 328 Meeting Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Citadel Square Baptist Chapel. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Mildred was born October 24, 1933, in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Nathaniel Yon and Nellow Abbott Yon. She was a receptionist with Charleston County Association for the Blind. She was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Paul M. Yon of West Columbia, SC; and many nieces and nephews
