Mildred "Millie" Cox Platt, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Marion C. Platt entered into eternal rest Monday, November 21, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 25, 2016 in The Salvation Army Chapel, 2135 Ashley River Road at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday in The Salvation Army Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Millie was born July 8, 1941 in Lumberton, North Carolina, daughter of the late Josh Cox and Mary Jones Cox. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was well known in West Ashley for her friendliness and generosity as a member of The Salvation Army.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marion C. Platt of Charleston, SC; three daughters, Mary Louise Sutton (Keith), Melinda Jane Jenkins (Joseph), and Melanie Platt all of Charleston, SC; two sons, Marion C. Platt, Jr., (Ivy) of Pageland, SC, and Michael Heyward Platt (Nancy) of North Charleston, SC; two brothers, Sam Cox, John Cox, and a sister, Emma LaClaire all of Lumberton, NC; 53 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
