Michael was born on April 23, 1959 in North Charleston, SC, the son of Richard Russell Smith and Sadie Louise Judy Smith. He retired as a Sergeant with the US Army.
He is survived by his mother, Sadie of North Charleston; three sisters: Renee Louise Keeling, Kathy Lea Robbins and Ruth Ann Johnson; brother, Richard Russell Smith Jr.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC.
