Michael Bruce Ringley, Sr., 70, of Moore, South Carolina, husband of Deloris Cynthia Kronick Ringley, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, October 21, 2011.

The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bruce Ringley, Sr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Wednesday morning, October 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at J. Henry Stuhr, Northwoods Chapel, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 between 5 and 7 p.m. Inurnment will be private. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made in Michael's name to the American Heart Association, 409 King Street, Suite 300, Charleston, SC 29403.

Mr. Ringley was born October 9, 1941 in Charleston, SC and was the son of the late Robert Franklin Ringley and Claire Kimmie Craven Ringley. After graduating from Chicora High School in 1959, Mr. Ringley went to work at the West Virginia/Westvaco Pulp and Paper Mill in Charleston, SC. While working at Westvaco, he earned a degree in chemical engineering. He retired from Westvaco as a Senior Research Chemical Engineer after 32 years of service and was awarded several patents for his research while employed with Westvaco. He was a member of several professional pulp and paper mill organizations including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry, and published numerous articles and papers. In recent years, he worked with several other chemical companies, taught high school chemistry in Thailand, and enjoyed restoring vintage automobiles. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

Mr. Ringley is survived by his wife Deloris Kronick Ringley; one son, Michael Bruce Ringley, Jr. of Ladson and his wife Angie Coffman Ringley; two daughters, Cindy Ringley Bales of Ridgeville and Belinda Ringley Webb of Topeka, Kansas and her husband Donald Edward Webb, Sr.; two brothers, David Franklin Ringley of Zebulon, North Carolina and his wife Alice Ringley, and Ronald Lewis Ringley of Summerville and his wife Ruth Ringley; four grandchildren, Donald Edward Webb, Jr. and his wife April Webb, Heather Brianna Ringley, Emily Lynn Webb, and Curtis Randal Bales; two great-grandchildren, Donald Edward Webb, III and Zane Travis Webb; sister-in-law Patricia Kronick Richardson and her husband John Aaron Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ringley was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Lee Ringley Villa, one son-in-law Frank Randal Bales, and one nephew Derek Travis Richardson.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, family, friends, and his beloved German shepherd, Kelsey.
