Michael David Owens, 54, of Summerville, SC, husband of Keely Stanley Owens, died Friday, November 7, 2014. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Michael was born November 1, 1960 in Walterboro, SC, son of the late William E. Owens and Carole Cook Judy. He was the owner and operator of Owens Transportation. Michael was a member of the Church of God in North Charleston, an avid sports fan and loved gaming. Michael was known in the trucking industry as "Heavy Duty".

He is survived by his wife of Summerville; his mother of Summerville; two sons, Josey Bayles and Casey Owens, both of Summerville; two daughters, Carol "Krissie" Wateski of Fort Drum, NY and Cheyenne Bayles of Summerville; three brothers: Bruce Owens of Summerville, Randy Owens of Columbia and Billy Owens of Daniel Island; step-brother, Terry Durr of North Charleston; and sister, Kay Owens of Summerville. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Durr.
