Michael Shawn Murphy, USAF (Ret.), 60, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Maria Michele Mitchell Murphy entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 22, 2020. Due to the health and safety of all during this time of the pandemic, his Funeral Services with military honors will be private, by family invitation at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel.Interment will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.

Michael was born February 13, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of George Murphy and the late Evelyn Foye Murphy. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. After serving his country, Michael worked for the Civil Service as a computer technician until his 2nd retirement. He loved playing golf, boating, fishing and dancing. Michael was involved in Dorchester Dragons Special Olympic, Summerville Miracle League and Charleston Miracle League.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Maria; one brother, Charles Murphy of OH; two sisters, Colleen Murphy and Debbie Marotta (Gary) of OH; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn and his beloved daughter, Maryjane Murphy.
Memorials may be made in his and Maryjane's names to SC Special Olympics - Dorchester Dragons, 109 Oak Park Drive, Irmo, SC, 29063.
