His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

Michael was born January 13, 1960 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Clifford Johnson and Carolyn Roberts Johnson. He was a graduate of Garrett high school and was a member of Living Waters World Outreach Center. Mike had over 36 years of federal service experience and served his country as an Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic in shop 82B (Launcher) at Trident Refit Facility, Kings Bay, GA, where his work efforts were important in protecting our national security. Prior to coming to TRF, Mike was at Charleston Naval Shipyard where he had come into civil service under the apprenticeship program. Mike received numerous awards during his career most recently receiving recognition from the director of Strategic Systems Programs for his outstanding support of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty Program. Mike also held a bachelor's degree in business administration from Brenau University, he enjoyed duck hunting, barbecue cooking and was an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan. Mr. Johnson was an important part of TRFs success and he will be greatly missed as both a co-worker and a friend.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years; daughter, Megan J. Popham (Andrew) of Amelia Island, FL; son, Joshua Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Rev. Dan Johnson (Pam) of Santee, SC; sister, Susan J. Peppler (Mark) of Amelia Island, FL; and mother in law, Neva F Dewitt of Charleston, SC.
