Michael Scott Hoag

Michael Scott Hoag, 68, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Margaret Hamming Hoag, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 2, 2023. His Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 14 in Church Creek Presbyterian at 11am. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.
 
Michael was born September 7, 1954 in Rochester, New York, son of the late Darwin B Hoag and Beverly A Tiffany Hoag. Michael loved music, and would always play woodwinds or drums for community bands, churches and other groups. He was also an avid reader with a particular love of history. He attended Church Creek Presbyterian Church with his family. 
 
In addition to Margaret, his wife of 44 years, Michael is survived by his daughter, Missy Stone (Josh); and grandchildren, Alina and Levi Stone.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Michael's memory to the music department at Carson-Newman University. He was able to play his instruments several times with this band and they meant a great deal to him while he lived in Tennessee.
