Michael was the Director of that same emergency room from 1985 to 2005, until he was forced to retired due to a stroke. Michael also suffered from Parkinson's Disease.
Michael is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Linda; and two daughters: Alexandra Georgette Hewson and Christina Louise Hewson.
Michael grew up in the Palm Beach County area of South Florida. He graduated from Riviera Beach High School and Auburn University. He received a master's degree from the University of Florida in Radiation Biophysics and receive his medical degree from Tulane Medical School.
Michael was the kindest and most loving man, who never missed an opportunity to tell a joke. He was known as "Mikey" to his closest friends and family. Mikey will be missed by all.
A celebration of his life is being planned in South Florida near his closest friends and extended family.
