Michael David Gaffney

Michael David Gaffney, 72, husband of Janet DuVal Gaffney of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. 

 The relatives and friends of Michael Gaffney are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Seacoast Christian Community Church at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. 

Michael was born on January 4, 1939 in Gaffney, South Carolina, son of the late Andrew Stephen Gaffney and Mary Dobbins Gaffney.  Prior to college, he played professional baseball for the Red Sox organization.  He graduated from Limestone College with degrees in English, History, and Psychology.  He was a retired writer and Advertising Executive, who spent 40 years in the industry.   An avid Washington Redskins football fan and he was also a master gardener.  Michael was loved by many and was the favorite uncle to all his nieces and nephews.  Michael attended Seacoast Christian Community Church. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Janet Gaffney of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and one son, Michael Stephen Gaffney of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Haden Hart Gaffney and granddaughter, Kathleen Collier Gaffney; and one great granddaughter, Leah.
