Michael John Carswell

 Michael John Carswell, 88, husband of Alvena Walters Carswell of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010. All services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mr. Carswell was born April 24, 1922, in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of the late Herbert Melson Carswell and Katie C. Fitzpatrick Carswell. He retired from the United States Navy Reserves, was a member of the VFW, was a ham radio operator and a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Alvena W. Carswell of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four children, Candice Walker of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Ann Lyles of Moncks Corner, SC, Daniel Carswell of Spartanburg, SC and Michael Carswell of Palmdale, CA; nine grandchildren and one brother, Pat Carswell of Mt. Pleasant, SC. The family requests that memorials be made to the "Way of the Cross Park" at Christ our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Dr., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
