Michael Shawn Bridges, 63, of Morgantown, West Virginia, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, SC, husband of Kimberly Dawn Parker-Bridges died Sunday, January 14, 2018. His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Seacoast Church Mount Pleasant, 750 Long Point Road at 1:00 pm. His ashes will be inurned with Full Military Honors accorded at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown/Grafton, WV. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Shawn was born May 27, 1954 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Thomas Yeary Bridges and the late Wilma Juanita Cook Bridges. He graduated from General William Moultrie High School in 1972, served in the United States Army and was retired from the Mount Pleasant Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly D. Parker-Bridges of Morgantown, WV; four children; Kelly Bridges Shymanski of Mount Pleasant, SC, Michael Shawn Bridges, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Caleb Parker Bridges of Morgantown, WV and Mattie Idamarie Bridges of Morgantown, WV; granddaughter, Charlotte Shymanski of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two brothers, David Bridges and Billy Bridges and sister, Sherry Martin all of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Memorials may be made to his wife, Kimberly Parker-Bridges, 1 Cornerstone Village, Morgantown, West Virginia, 26508 in honor of his children's future education.
