Melody Laquiere Kellett, age 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2025. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and a source of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.

Melody was born on May 3, 1958, grew up in Charleston and graduated from St. Andrews High School. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur George Laquiere and Dorothy Varnadoe Tumbleston. She is survived by her two brothers, Delbert Arthur Laquiere (Carol) and Thomas Creighton Laquiere (Ellen); her niece, Jessica Bowers; and her nephews, Eric Laquiere, Ryan Laquiere, Robert Laquiere and Kevin Ryan.

Melody dedicated her life to her work as a professional dog groomer, a career she truly loved. She had a special connection with animals and treated every dog in her care with patience, gentleness, and compassion. Her clients trusted her not only for her skill, but for the genuine love she showed to their pets. Her work was more than a job - it was a reflection of her caring spirit.

She cherished her family deeply and held close the bonds that mattered most. Melody found joy in life’s simple moments and had a spirit that brought light into every room. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and kindness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 1:30 pm at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, followed by burial at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
