Melody Carney

Melody Renee Carney, 66, of Ladson, South Carolina, wife of Lloyd T. Carney, died peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, May 7, 2017. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the Seacoast Church: Mount Pleasant Campus, 750 Long Point Road at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Melody was born November 27, 1950 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of the late William Cook and the late Helen Teagarden Cook. She graduated from Lakeland High School in LaGrange, Indiana. Melody and her husband owned Carney Oil and Tire. Prior to that she worked at Farmers State Bank and Lakeland School Corporation. Melody was active in the Tri Kappa Sorority, where she also served as President for two years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Melody and Lloyd moved to the Charleston area in 2010. She worked at Pier One Imports and attended Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant. Melody loved being near the water and she enjoyed time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren's activities and sporting events. She was loved for her kindness, compassion, and generosity.

In addition to her husband, Lloyd, she is survived by her daughters, Noel Frost (Rob) of LaGrange, Indiana and Nicole Logan of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Nic), Kayleigh (Seth), MacKenzie, Avery (Kiersten), Aleah, and Hunter; a great-grandson, Carter; her brother, Bill Cook (Madeline); her sister, Michelle Siegel (Alan); her mother-in-law, Dorothy Carney; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Diane Smith and Leann Booth.
