Melissa K. Maresca

Melissa K. Maresca died December 26, 2024 of unforeseen medical complications. She was a registered architect and certified interior designer. She worked as a mentor to her husband Mark of Maresca & Associate Architects. She survived 25 years of trigeminal neuralgia and was miraculously cured 7 seven years ago. She was known by all for her honesty, straightforwardness and sensitivity to life and all it's struggles. She loved her family passionately and remained her family's North Star.

Her passions were her family, politics, and football.

Melissa is survived by her husband, Mark and her beloved daughters, Lauren Carlson of Charleston, SC and Kathryn Faull of Riverside, Illinois. Melissa was blessed with 2 sons-in-law, Carl I. Carlson IV and Chase T. Faull. She was fortunate to have 2 granddaughters, Anna Lucian Carlson, and Louise Augusta Faull which gave her much joy. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gibbes Museum of Art Building Fund, 135 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401.

Her spirit and her beautiful laugh will be with her family forever.

A casual, (non-mourning attire) get together will be held on New Year's Day, January 1, 2025 at the family home on 89 Smith Street, Charleston, SC 29401 from 1-5 PM to celebrate new beginnings.
