Maywood "Woodie" Dubose Byrum, 80, of Hanahan, SC, wife of R. Joe Byrum entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 2, 2021. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 1:00PM in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Woodie was born December 28, 1940 in Florence, SC, daughter of the late Hewitt Lawhon and Laverne Barr Lawhon. She was an long-time employee of Charlestowne Pest Control of Charleston. Woody loved to spend time with family and particularly loved to go shopping and go to the movies. She was a huge lover of animals, especially her dogs. She loved to ride in her BMW, as well as relax on the couch and watch the Hallmark and Lifetime channels.
She is survived by her loving husband; sons, Shannon Joe Byrum of North Charleston and Trace Burgess of Virginia; one daughter, Tonya (Russ) Locke of Belton, SC; three grandchildren, Seth Hegler, Jackson Locke and Ella Rose Locke; two sisters, Deborah (David) Nice, Cindy Browning, both of Williamsburg, VA; sister-in-law Debra Lawhon; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Billy, Roy and Danny.
