Maynard Morris Moon, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Dorothy Jean Humbert Moon entered into eternal rest Friday, August 12, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday August 18, 2016 at the graveside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday in J.HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Maynard was born November 9, 1927 in Swanton, Maryland, son of the late Maynard Moon and Leona Bernard Moon. He was a World War II Veteran with the U.S. Army. During his service with the U.S. Army he received the World War II Victory Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal in Japan. He was a retired Data Processing Manager.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean Moon of Charleston, SC; son, Gary L. Moon (Rhonda) of Winchester, VA; three daughters, Dana Jarrell (Michael) of Ridgely, MD, Pamela Saxton of Oakland, CA, and Cheryl Litten (Matthew) of Annandale, VA; brother, Eugene Moon of Fallston, MD; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
