Maxine Coskrey Eadon Thomas, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother went home to the Lord on January 21, 2012.
Born February 17, 1920 in Summerton, SC, she was one of eight children of Willie Coskrey and Phoesia Ross Coskrey. Mrs. Thomas spent her childhood in Summerton, SC and graduated from Summerton High School. She was first married to Jefferson Davis Eadon who passed away after 25 years of marriage. Her second marriage to Julian William Thomas lasted 43 years. She was a member of North Charleston United Methodist Church.
Maxine was a star basketball player at Summerton High. She loved to garden, to cook, was a joyful person who was loved and revered by her children, grandchildren and family.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by two daughters, Judy Gibson of Hanahan, SC, Mickey Smith (Hugh) of Pinopolis, SC, and two step daughters, Claudia Clayton (Jay) of West Chester, PA and Susan Fallon (Gary) of Wilmington, DE; sister, Peggy Durant of Alcolu, SC; brother, Sonny Coskrey (Louella) of Hartsville, SC; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Tuesday, January 24, 2012 between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.
