Mavie Caddell Gaskins, 90, of North Charleston, SC, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in a local hospital.

Born January 16, 1921 in Bonneau, SC she was one of five children of Iverson Caddell and Louise Heape Caddell.   She was a retired Insurance Agent with State Farm and a member of Doorway Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gaskins is survived by her daughter, Carol Gaskins Gardner of North Charleston, SC; son, Joseph H. Gaskins and his wife Carol of James Island, SC; 27 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Heyward Caddell and his wife Joan of North Charleston, SC.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Gaskins; and daughter Karen Gaskins Pace.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's North Area Chapel Friday between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
