Maurice D Krawcheck, 89, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Linda Smith Krawcheck entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 4, 2025. His service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, in Emanu-el (Maryville) Cemetery, 60 Sycamore Drive, Charleston, at 1:30pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Maurice was born April 6, 1936, in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Max Isadore Krawcheck and the late Dorothy Abrams. He was an owner and operator of Max's Men's Store. Beloved husband, loving father, kind, honest, generous man. Growing up in Charleston, he attended school here before graduating from Tulane University and RPI (Retail Purchasing Institute). He was a member of the United States Army, Commissioner of the Charleston Yacht Basin in the late 1970's. He was a lifetime member of synagogue Emanu-El and a founding member of Charleston Trident Fishing Tournament as an avid salt-water deep-sea fisherman.
Along with his wife of 44 years, he is survived by brother, Robert L. Krawcheck Esq. (Viccy) ; daughter, Lynda R. Ballaban (Rabbi Steve) of Colorado; two sons, Dr. Randall O (Gena) of Coral Gables, FL, Krawcheck of Cincinnati, OH, Eric L. Krawcheck (Peggy) of Mount Pleasant, SC; two step sons, Richard T. Cohen (Lucie) of Columbia, SC, Steven W. Cohen (Ashley) of Daniel Island, SC; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by father, Max Isadore Krawcheck, mother, Dorothy Abrams Krawcheck; son, Michael Krawcheck; and sister, Sherelyn Margolis.
