Maurice Leigh Buss

Maurice Leigh Buss, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Thelma Rushton Buss entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 17, 2021. His funeral service will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC 29414 at 3:00 pm., where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial following will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

Maurice was born February 10, 1929 in Montgomery, PA, son of the late Henry M. Buss and Violet Houtz Buss Wakefield. He was veteran of Korea and retired from the South Carolina National Guard. He was a career Civil Servant with the Charleston Navy Shipyard.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, two children Gerald Buss (Vincent Fredo) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; daughter, Wydette R. Ramey of Charleston, SC; grandson, Michael Ramey (Brenda) of Jacksonville, NC, two great-granchildren, Victoria Ramey, Alexander Ramey; nieces and nephews. Maurice is preceded in death by two bothers and two sisters.
