Maureen Sullivan Sirles


Maureen was born December 13, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late James Sullivan and the late Mary Keane Sullivan. She met her love, David, while attending Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, NJ. Following high school she attended Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, NC and then transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkhill, NY where she graduated with a Bachelor degree. Maureen married David after graduating college before he deployed to Bamberg, Germany with the U.S. Army. She joined him shortly thereafter where they traveled around the country when David wasn't training. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, David, her Son Michael (Alexandria) of Mount Pleasant, SC, her Daughter Alexandra Durán (Alex) of Austin, TX, her Grandsons, Aiden and Noah of Mount Pleasant, SC siblings James Sullivan and Peter Sullivan her Aunt, Betty Keane and her mother in law, Wilma Sirles. She took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, was a great cook, and was quite creative, enjoying decorating, landscaping and musicals. Maureen was known for her support of her NY sports teams, cheering for both the Giants and the Yankees. She also cheered for South Carolina Gamecocks football. She had a great heart and will be remembered as a great wife, mom, grandmother and friend.
