Maureen Gandia Flotildes, 69, of Charleston, South Carolina, gracefully and courageously entered eternal rest Friday, October 18, 2019.
Born on August 5th, 1950 in Marulas, Kawit, Cavite in the Philippines, "Mau" as known by her family is the daughter of the late Tomas Fami and Jovita Ferrer Gandia. She will be remembered and cherished always by her husband and "Noy" of 40 years Alberto Occiano, children Almar Gandia, Leslie Martin and Albert Samuel Gandia, grandson on the way, sisters Purificacion "Puring" Gandia Olaes, Myrna "May" Gandia Olaes, Evelyn "Evie" Gandia Brown and countless other extended relatives and family in spirit. In heaven, Mau will be embraced by her Loving Heavenly Father and her siblings Nedicasion "Edie" Gandia Olaes, Anicetas "Chit" Gandia Natalaray, Rustico "Rusty" Gandia, Anarlita "Elite" Gandia Samot, Rodolfo "Tibot" Gandia and Estrella "Teying" Gandia Melo.
Mau became a proud citizen of the United States of America on November 18, 1992. She loved to cook and feed her family and absolutely any visitor fortunate to experience her unconditional and overwhelming kindness and compassion.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 21, 2019 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held following the visitation.
