Maude La Roche Bailey Alt

Maude La Roche Bailey Alt, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, died Thursday, May 17, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the Christ - St. Paul's Church, 4981 Chapel Road, Yonges Island, SC at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Christ-St. Paul's Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm.

Maude was born May 16, 1924 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Reynolds La Roche and the late Minnie Lawton Bostick La Roche. She was a graduate of Memminger High School and attended the College of Charleston. As a native Charlestonian, she was involved in the city's social circles and organizations including the DAR and First Families.

She is survived by one son, Jenkins LaRoche Bailey (Julia) of Mount Pleasant, SC, three granddaughters, Elizabeth Bailey Montoya (Mairol), Kristen Bailey Aderholt and Virginia Bailey Duncan; one grandson, John Barnwell Bailey, III; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Anne Bailey of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was preceded in death by husbands, John Bailey and John Anthony Alt and sons, Osmer Bostick Bailey and John Barnwell Bailey, Jr..
