Entered into eternal rest on the evening of Wednesday, November 23, 2011, Mattie Lou Blocker Yaun, widow of William Walter Yaun, Sr. Residence, Johns Island, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Mattie Yaun are invited to attend her funeral service at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Stono Baptist Church, Johns Island. Interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, on Saturday between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Yaun was born on May 22, 1917 in Walterboro, SC; daughter of the late Albert Blocker and Janie Adams Blocker. She was a member of Stono Baptist Church.

Surviving are her two sons: William "Billy" W. Yaun, Jr., and Lewis A. Yaun both of Johns Island; two daughters: Janie Y. Fitch of North Charleston and Nancy Y. Garrett of Pelzer, SC; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband William and son John A. Yaun.
