Matthew Marion Watson

Matthew "Matt" Marion Watson, 30, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011.  Matt's relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of His Life on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 3:00 pm.  Burial will be private.  The family will greet friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel after the service.  

Matt was born on August 24, 1980 in Marion, South Carolina, son of Marion H. Watson, Jr. and June Hart Watson of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He graduated from Clemson University and then from the Medical University of South Carolina with a master's degree in Health Administration.  He worked as the executive assistant to the Director for the VA Medical Center. Matt was a member of The Second Presbyterian Church of Charleston.

 He is survived by his parents of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one brother, Mark L. Watson and his wife, Emily of Summerville, SC; maternal grandfather, Frank Hart and his wife, Nell of Union, SC; paternal grandmother, Hazel M. Watson of Marion, SC; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Matt's memory designated to Stand Down Against Homelessness, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center Voluntary Services, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC  29401.
