IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Matthew Joseph
Dudzinski
July 12, 1949 – January 12, 2026
Matthew Joseph Dudzinski, 76, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Norma Jean Schumann Dudzinski, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Born on July 12, 1949, in Washington, DC, Matthew was the son of the late Matthew Dudzinski and Helen Kinkus Dudzinski. He was a graduate of The University of Maryland, where he was a proud member of the marching band, an early expression of a lifelong love of music.
Matthew built his career as a computer programmer and systems analyst, a field well suited to his sharp mind and steady problem-solving nature. A devout Catholic, Matthew attended Mass regularly, finding comfort and strength in his faith throughout his life.
Music was a constant companion. He played the saxophone and clarinet in several bands over the years and found joy in singing at open mic nights, sharing both his voice and his warmth with others. Matthew met his beloved wife, Norma, while square dancing, and dancing together remained a shared joy throughout their life. He also enjoyed riding his bike, taking long walks with their dog, Robyn, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Dudzinski, of Mount Pleasant; his son, Mark Dudzinski of Johns Island, South Carolina, and his wife Melissa; his sister, Elaine Mumper of Illinois; and his three dear grandchildren, Joseph, Miller, and Molly, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Dudzinski, and his mother, Helen Dudzinski.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in The Somerby Room at Somerby of Mount Pleasant, 3100 Tradition Circle, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina 29466.
