Mathew Joseph Polutta, Jr.

Mathew Joseph Polutta Jr., 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Patricia Berry Polutta, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 7, 2023. His memorial service will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 in the Epworth United Methodist Church, 1540 Camp Road at 11:00 am, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Mathew was born November 21, 1928 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Mathew Joseph Polutta Sr. and the late Winnifred Cox. He was known to his family & friends as M.J., he served in the Army, and retired with 36 yrs Civil Service. He was a LIFETIME member of the James Island Yacht Club, VFW 445 and an active member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. 

In addition to his wife, Mathew is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Polutta Olsen; and sons, Mathew Joseph Polutta III (Abby) and Mark Oliver Polutta (Yuan) & grandsons Reed, Theodore, Daniel & Noah.
