MaryLou Thomson, 74, of Mount Pleasant, SC, lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 30, 2022. She died peacefully in her daughter’s home. A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 15 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 67 Anson St. Charleston, (parking is available at the Gillard Center Parking garage at 33 Alexander St.) at 1pm.
MaryLou was born in Burlington, Iowa, and later her family moved to Duarte, California, where she attended Duarte High School. MaryLou had two children and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Later, she married the love of her life, Richard Thomson, and they came to Mount Pleasant, SC, to retire and enjoy all the beautiful things the Low Country had to offer.
MaryLou loved flowers, especially spring flowers, and served on the Flower Guild at St. Stephen’s Church. She also spent several years as a volunteer at East Cooper Hospital in outpatient surgery. MaryLou spent the better part of her working life as a massage therapist and enjoyed helping others feel better.
To know MaryLou was to love her! She lit up a room with her smile! She was beautiful both inside and out. Those who knew her, knew what a great cook and baker she was! She loved to bless those she loved with a homemade pie to brighten their day. She loved the beach and boating in the Low Country, the smell of fresh dried sheets on the clothesline, the Parish Hall after church, dinner out with friends, and her family time.
MaryLou is survived by her Mother, June Pisone, of Meridian, ID; her children Wendy Puthuff and Jeremy Breese of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren Michael and William Puthuff of Mount Pleasant, SC; step children Richard Thomson of San Diego, CA, Kemer Thomson of Poway, CA, Chris Thomson of Clemmons, NC, and Jean Thomson of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Ero Gray of Portland, OR, Kegan Thomson of Ft.
