Mary Ellen Young, 90, of Summerville, South Carolina, widow of William Hanna Young, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Her Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Whitmire Cemetery, 399 Cemetery Drive, Whitmire, SC at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
Mary was born March 11, 1924 in Whitmire, South Carolina, daughter of John L. Miller and Wilma Ramey Miller. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, William H. "Bill" Young, Jr. of Bluffton, SC; sister, Julia M. Alexander of Van Wyck, SC; three nieces, Karen Young Blackman, Judy Young and Janet Young Easterby, all of Charleston, SC. Mary is preceded in death by a nephew, John Alexander.
The family wished to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to the Presbyterian Home Village at Summerville, and a special thanks to Brenda Robinson, for their kind and loving care during her last years.
Memorials may be made to Whitmire Presbyterian Church, 1509 S. Church Street, Whitmire, SC 29178.
