Mary Louise Wise

Mary Louise Sympson Wise, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of John Elwood Wise entered into eternal rest Monday, October 8, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 in Bethany United Methodist Church, James Island, 1853 Maybank Hwy. at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Mary was born February 19, 1925 in Hazard, Kentucky, daughter of the late Paul Sympson and George and Frances Sympson Shutt. She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Mary taught school in Japan, Kentucky and was a world traveler. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by her two sons, John Berkeley Wise (Nora) and Robert Kindred Wise (Shari) both of Charleston; former daughter-in-law, Marianne Wise of Katy, TX; four grandchildren: Katie Erickson (Steven), John K. Wise, Frances Ellen Flores (G.J.) and Hannah E. Wise; and four great-grandchildren: Breanna, Tristan, Leland and Reese. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Sympson.
