Mary Gertrude "Trudy" Gissell Smith

Mary Gertrude "Trudy" Gissell Smith, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Marion D. Smith entered into eternal rest Monday, October 2, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Downtown Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Trudy was born February 24, 1938 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Hancke R. Gissell and Gertrude Fox Gissell. She was a graduate of St. Andrew's High School and attended the College of Charleston. Trudy retired from B&W Mechanical Contractors.

She is survived by her brother, Robert A. Gissell (Nancy) of Charleston, SC; niece, Terry Gissell Morris (Tom) of Concord, NH; and two nephews: Kevin Gissell and Darin Gissell both of Charleston, SC. Trudy was predeceased by her brother, Leroy Gissell.
