Mary Elizabeth Thrift

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Thrift, 93, of North Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Frank Thrift entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 16, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be private.

Betty was born June 12, 1925 in Rincon, Georgia, daughter of the late Christian D. Behrens and Minnie Hinley Behrens. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and family was the greatest joy of her life.

She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Strickland (Norton) of Pelion, SC, Robin MacDonald of Summerville, SC; daughter-in-law, Mary Thrift of Huger, SC; five grandchildren, Scott, Kristal, Alenda, Wesley, Laura and seven great-grandchildren, Jenna, Noah, Madison, Jay, London, Breanna and Kamryn. She was preceded in death by her son Frank Ronald Thrift and brother, Charlie Gray Cook.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff and Dr. Stella Pavik of White Oak Manor and also to Victoria Hoselton with Hospice of Charleston.
