Mary Ridgeway Thompson, 79, of Jamestown, South Carolina, wife of John W. Thompson entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 28, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens . The family will receive friends Friday evening in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mary was born January 22, 1937 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Theodore Ridgeway and Elesa Bazar Ridgeway. She was a Tax Preparer with Broach Tax Services. Mary was a volunteer at Berea United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen. She was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry of Jamestown Methodist Charge, and also a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.She is survived by her husband, John W. Thompson of Jamestown, SC; two daughters, Lisa T. Hilton (Thomas) of Charleston, SC, and Denise T. Watts of Dorchester, SC; son, John W. Thompson, Jr. (Kathy) of Jamestown, SC; sister, Brenda Canady (Brian) of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Jessica Weaver (Michael), Stephen Austin Watts, Lori Hilton, and Adrianne Hilton.
