Mary Sandra "Sandy" Cooper, 81, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, wife of the late Douglas William Cooper, Jr. entered into eternal rest Friday, February 28, 2025. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Sandra was born July 9, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Francis Arthur Burn, Sr. and the late Ethel Fiddie Burn. She was a 1961 graduate of North Charleston High School and attended North Greenville Jr. College (North Greenville University). Sandra retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital. Sandra worked tirelessly as an advocate for the deaf community in the tri-county area and was a member of the Charleston Council for the Deaf. She was also a member of the Women's Civic Club of Pimlico and a longtime volunteer at Cypress Gardens.
She is survived by daughter, Catherine Ann Holst (Calvin) of Inman, SC; son, Douglas "Billy" William Cooper Jr. (Denise) of Gaston, SC; grandchildren: Brandon Holst, Douglas William Cooper, III, and Marissa Holst; brother, Francis Arthur (Dianne) Burn of Hayes, VA; sisters: Sharon Burn Smith (Jimmy) of Summerton, SC and Susan Burn (Brad) Dukes of North Charleston, SC. Sandra was also survived by her much-loved nieces and nephews.
