Mary Lou Giddings Sage, 81, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina since 2017, died peacefully in her home on June 15, 2026, due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born April 28, 1945, in Richmond, Virginia. Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband John Sage and her daughter, Danielle. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Mary Virginia Giddings, and her brother, Albert Hugh Giddings, of Richmond.

Mary Lou attended the University of Tennessee and received her Master’s Degree from Bowie State University. She began her career as a special education teacher in 1973 in Maryland. In 1981 she moved on to her successful lifelong profession as a Virginia residential real estate agent. Mary Lou attained many accolades during her 35+ years as a realtor. She was a lifetime member of NVAR Multi-Million Dollar Club. She was also a member of the Mount Vernon and Snee Farm country clubs. She was an avid lifelong tennis player at different levels.

Mary Lou will be remembered by her friends, family and clients as a vivacious, loving, kind and generous person who will be greatly missed by everyone who crossed paths with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Mt. Pleasant later in July.
