Mary Lois Ross

July 20, 1931 — August 30, 2016

Mary Lois McKnight Ross, 85, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Fred James Ross died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 surrounded by her children. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel.

Mary was born July 20, 1931 in Lake City, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Kinder McKnight and Anna Mable Smith McKnight. She was a graduate of Rivers High School and the owner of Ross Auto Auction. She enjoyed gardening, teaching sewing and swimming lessons.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia L. Beckman (Neal) of Charleston, SC; three sons: Fred James Ross, Jr. (Charlotte) of Charleston, SC, Robert Louis Ross (Sheila) of Charleston, SC, and Thomas Lee Ross (Jeanette) of Charleston, SC; twelve grandchildren: Patrick, DJ, Amanda, Ashley, Abby, Laura, Robby Jr., Heather, Joy, Tanner, Alex, and Jolee; and eleven great-grandchildren.
