Entered into eternal rest on Sunday evening, October 23, 2011, Mary Ellen Smith Postell, widow of John William "JW" Postell. Residence, Ravenel, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at First Baptist Church of Ravenel Thursday, October 27, 2011, at 2 o'clock. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Wednesday afternoon from 5 until 7 pm.

Born on September 25, 1938 in Charleston, South Carolina, Mary was the daughter of the late Charles Hamilton and Catherine Deloach Smith. Mary was a retired Line Inspector with North Glove Manufacturing and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ravenel. She was a member of the Carolina Chapter 25 Eastern Star and she enjoyed crafts, traveling, fishing, cooking and needlework.

Surviving are her five children, Donald Seffens and wife (Gina) of Ravenel, Curtis Seffens and wife (Michelle) of Ravenel, David Dewitt and wife (Ginger) of Moncks Corner, John W. Postell, Jr. and wife (Linda) of Bluffton, SC, Victoria Postell and (Allen Meeks) of Ravenel; three grandchildren, Amy Matthews and husband (John), Dominique Postell and (Rodney Felder) and Shelley Dewitt of Bluffton, SC; two step grandchildren, Gregory Runion and Nikki Huffstickler; and nine great grandchildren.
