Mary Louise Hiers Parnell

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of January 28, 2011, Mary Louise Hiers Parnell, widow of Baron LeBoney Parnell, Jr.  Residence, North Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in Doorway Baptist Church Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.  Interment, Riverview Memorial Park.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, Monday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Parnell was born February 20, 1921 in Ehrhardt, SC, a daughter of the late Bradley C. Hiers and the late Agnes Peters Hiers.  She was a member of Doorway Baptist Church, the B.A.L.L. Group and the Wando Woods Garden Club.  Mrs. Parnell was a retired cafeteria manager for the Charleston County School District. 

She is survived by a son, Ronald B. Parnell and wife, Sylvia, of Cross, SC; a daughter, LaBonney Taylor of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Angelia Breland of Ehrhardt, SC and Beverly Fisk of Lodge, SC; three brothers, James Everett Hiers, Alyea Hiers and Franklin Hiers, all of Ehrhardt, SC; two grandchildren, Robert "Bert" Parnell and wife, Tonya, of Lakeland, FL and Rhett Parnell of Bluffton, SC; a great grandchild, Kimberly Parnell of Lakeland, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted as well as memorial gifts may be made to Doorway Baptist Church "Building Fund", 7825 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC  29405.
