Mary Jo Maxey Parker, 86, of Mount Pleasant, SC, wife of the late Samuel Thurmond "Bud" Parker, died Friday, June 27, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held at the graveside Monday, June 30, 2014, in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL Monday, June 30, 2014, from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm.

Mary was born August 4, 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee, daughter of the late Joseph Teal Maxey and Elizabeth Beasley Maxey. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews Church, Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane P. Sullivan and her husband, Bill, of Mount Pleasant, SC; her sons, Jim Parker and his wife, Ann, of Moultrie, GA, and Mike Parker of Wikieup, AZ; two grandsons, Rhett Parker and Jason Sullivan; four granddaughters, Jo Beth Key, Kristin Sullivan, Jenna Boyce, and Shana Parker; eight great-grandchildren; and two very special cats, Jack and Joy.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers Sandy Freeman and Jane Martin, as well as Southern Care Hospice.
