Mary Michel Mains, 81, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Charles "Chuck" Paul Mains, Jr., entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 27, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 in the Church of The Nativity, 1061 Folly Road at 11:30 am. Prayers of Commendation and Farewell will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, with a Prayer Service starting at 6:00 pm.
Mary was born June 15, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Paschal Aloysious Michel and Olga Hatton Michel. Mary worked as a teller in banking for over 30 years. She spent her life caring for family friend and strangers alike. She was deeply passionate about her roots and her family. Mary met the world with kindness, compassion, and unwavering loyalty.
She is survived by her son, Charles Paul Mains III (Paul); daughter, Nicole Mains Fagala; son-in-law, Paul Edward Fagala (EJ); granddaughter, Carson Taylor Fagala; grandsons, Michael Keller, Joshua Keller, Johnny Keller, and Charles Andrew Mains (CAM); sister, Dr. Helen Michel Dodds and her husband, Dr. Kenneth A. Dodds; sister, Madiline Michel Badger (Meg) and her husband, Joe Badger; sister-in-law, Patricia Mains; brother-in-law, Michael Mains; nephews and nieces, Nathan Lee Dyer (Racheal), Joshe Lee Dyer (Courney), Weston Lee Dyer (Allison), James Badger, Jennifer (JJ) Tanzer John), Cathy Abreo (Ricky), Shawn Mains Scott Mains, Jennifer Shierlock; in addition to many other family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard P. Mains; mother, Olga Hatton Michel; father, Paschel Aloyisius Michel; sister Julia Michel Dyer; and many other family members and loved ones.
