Mary Lou Alyce Brickle Sorenson, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Dr. Robert I. Sorenson died Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1885 Rifle Range Road at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow at the Rodenberg Chapel Columbarium. Mary was born July 23, 1929 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Herbert C. Brickle and the late Mattie Haddock Brickle. She graduated from MUSC School of Nursing, served in the Nursing Corps of the United States Navy from 1958 to 1964 and was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son, Robert G. Sorenson (Dr. Sophie Robert Sorenson) of Charleston, SC; three daughters, Sarah S. Urycki (Richard Urycki) of LaGrange, IL, Dr. Jennifer J. S. Sorenson (Dr. Edward Sako) of San Antonio, TX and Dr. Karen S. J. Sorenson (Dr. Richard Jerde) of Seattle, WA; sister, Annette B. Withers of Charleston, SC, her nephew Gary Stephan Withers and nine grandchildren.
