Mary Elizabeth Wirth Lamb, 83, wife of Melvin O. Lamb, Sr., of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 10, 2012. The relatives and friends of Mary Lamb are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Sunday, August 12, 2012 in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive at 4:00 pm. Entombment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 13, 2012 at the home of Melvin O. Lamb, Sr. from 12:00 until 6:00 pm. Mary was born on June 24, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, daughter of the late Leonard A. Wirth and Rosalie Mollycheck Wirth. She was know to everyone as "Ma Ma" and her ministry was children of all ages. She had a wonderful life with her husband, Melvin for 65 years and had compassion for people, young and old. Everyone was always welcome at her home and she was famous for her spaghetti and okra soup. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin O. Lamb, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC, four sons, Melvin O. Lamb. Jr., Roger L. Lamb, Sr., Jeffrey W. Lamb and Mark E. Lamb, Sr. all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three daughters, Rosemary Lamb-Burnett of Mount Pleasant, SC, Carolyn L. Goodman of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Beth Ann Lamb of Clinton, UT; one brother, David N. Wirth of Hanahan, SC; twenty one grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
