Mary Knight

Mary Knight, 101, mother to Dick and Annie Knight of Hanahan, SC, passed quietly at home on Saturday April 14, 2018. Mary was born in Brooklyn, New York, December 5, 1916, daughter of Gregory and Martha Buryiak, wife to Noah Dorsey Knight.

"Grandma" to everyone, she was famous for guiding the family, loving all, and being the matriarch of the Knight clan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Dorsey Knight; her three brothers: Alex, Pete and George Buryiak; and grandson, Peter james Knight. She is survived by her son and daughter, Richard and Eleanor Anne; granddaughter Nancy; three great-grandchildren: Michelle, Shannon and Saige; six great-great-grandchildren: Alexis, Alyssa, Kathryn, Jacob, Danielle, and Maryann.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 265 North Shelmore Blvd.,(I'on) Mt. Pleasant, SC at 10:00 a.m. Mary will be interred next to her husband in New Jersey at a later date.
