Mary Juanita Davis Kern

Mary Juanita "Nita" Davis Kern, 89, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, widow of Frederick Kern entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church 3075 Bees Ferry Road, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Saturday in the church one hour prior to the service Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC.

Nita was born October 19, 1925 in Lyman, SC, daughter of the late Irby Joseph and Lila Mae Huntsinger Davis. She graduated from Spartanburg High, and was employed by the Charleston Naval Base, Naval Supply Center and Naval Electronic System Command, SE Division in Charleston, SC. She retired after 30 years Federal Civil Service.

She is survived by her nieces, Tena West (Steve) of Lyman, SC, Becky Moore (Derrell) of Spartanburg, SC, and Virginia Kern of Matthews, NC. She is preceded in death by her three brothers, Joe Davis of Spartanburg, SC, Douglas Davis of Charleston, SC, and Jack Davis of Spartanburg, SC.
