Mary Louise Mixon Johnson

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of February 13, 2011 Mary Louise Mixon Johnson, wife of Dr. Wendell S. Johnson.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Johnson are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Tuesday afternoon from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. 

Mrs. Johnson was born June 24, 1932 in Durham, North Carolina, daughter of the late Wimbon L. Mixon and late Louise Allen Boyer Mixon.  She was a member of Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, formerly known as Rutledge Baptist Church for 58 years.  She was the church secretary from 1952 until 1957 and served as the Church Clerk for the past 25 years. 

She is survived by her husband Dr. Wendell S. Johnson of Charleston; two sons, Mark W. Johnson and his wife Kozue Ito Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Brian T. Johnson of Charleston; two brothers, Marshall L. Mixon of Charleston and William A. Mixon of Hickory, NC; a sister, Beverly M. Daugherty of Otterberg, Germany; and two grandchildren, Noah Ito Johnson and Maya Ito Johnson.  Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother Thomas F. Mixon of Raleigh, NC.
