Mary Jean 'Michelle' Andrews, 79, of Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 25, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive at 10:30 am. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road on Monday, December 6, 2021.

Michelle was born January 16, 1942 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, daughter of the late James J. Gray and Dorothy Hemingway Gray. After obtaining a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from the Citadel, she worked for Charleston County Mental Health as a counselor for Mobile Crisis. Michelle was passionate about helping those less fortunate and volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and East Cooper Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by two daughters, Samantha Gray Smith (Douglas) of Charleston, SC; Siobhan Maize (John) of Mount Pleasant, SC; two grandchildren, Katherine Maize and Alexis Maize; two nieces, Deborah Gray (Keith Oppenheimer), Dorothea Gray Papastathis (Peter) and a nephew, James Gray III, all of Massachusetts; and her lifelong best friend who was like her sister, Patricia Webster of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Gray Jr.
